Carrico 989 Chest Press Machine

The pads on Carrico 989 are 60 mm of closed-cell foam under stitched upholstery — thick enough to be comfortable, firm enough not to move under load.

The weight stack is steel, in 5 kg plates, pinned with a magnetic selector that cannot fall out mid-set. Every pulley is sealed-bearing nylon, not a bushing on a bolt.

Upholstery is a single wipe-clean panel, held by four bolts. When it eventually splits, it is a spare part rather than a new machine. It is built to be serviced rather than replaced: every wear part unbolts.

Care

Check cable ends every three months and replace at the first broken strand — cables are cheap, a failure under load is not.
