The pads on Portanza 260 are 60 mm of closed-cell foam under stitched upholstery — thick enough to be comfortable, firm enough not to move under load.
Powder-Coated Steel on a 60 mm box section. Guide rods are hard-chromed and run in self-lubricating bushings, so the stack drops quietly and stays quiet.
The weight stack is steel, in 5 kg plates, pinned with a magnetic selector that cannot fall out mid-set. Every pulley is sealed-bearing nylon, not a bushing on a bolt. The finish marks before the frame does, which is the right way round.
