Serrata 981 Olympic Barbell

Hard-Chromed Steel shaft, 35 mm, with a medium-depth knurl and dual marks for both power and weightlifting grips. Centre knurl is light enough not to scrape a neck on high-bar squats.

Whip is moderate: enough to feel on a heavy pull, not so much that a press wanders. Weight tolerance within 2%. It is cheap to replace and slow to need it.
