The monitor tracks split, stroke rate and distance and stores sessions on the unit itself, so the data does not depend on an app being around next year.

Powder-Coated Steel. The handle is straight rather than contoured, which suits more hand sizes than a moulded grip does, and the chain runs in a nylon channel so it cannot slap the rail. It is built to be serviced rather than replaced: every wear part unbolts.
